Thanks to JacKc, we now have new logos for all MAME & MESS variants of QMC2 (see above)!
While I was updating the homepage with the new logos, I also changed the header’s layout a bit. Hope you enjoy it.

Note that there’s a new repository for openSUSE Linux users interested in the latest changes made to our SVN trunk (development versions). The repository currently has packages for openSUSE 11.4, 12.1 and Factory and is now available from the download section (or this direct link).
Though being development versions, we try to keep these packages in a stable state. However, we can’t guarantee this under all circumstances since new stuff often introduces new bugs as well
, which is the main reason why we don’t mix these packages with the ones from the repository for final releases. Also, translations are mostly unfinished in these packages, but German and English translations should be more or less up-to-date at all times.
So, decide for yourself which repository you’d like to use (they are mutually exclusive, that is, you can’t use them both!).
Marcelo Bossoni has updated his Ubuntu packages to QMC2 0.34! Note that these packages now also require MAME/MESS from an additional repository.
See download section for details!
David Ely has taken responsibility for Mac OS X builds (thanks!) and his first official universal build of QMC2 0.34 is available from the download section now!
Updated binary packages for openSUSE and Win32 have been created and uploaded to their respective places — see download section!
QMC2 0.34 has finally been released! This version is in sync with MAME & MESS 0.144, which were also released just recently.
The most important highlights this time include:
The source code is now available in the download section. Expect updated binary packages within the next few hours and days.
For more details, please see the change-log of the current release.
Have fun,
The QMC2 dev-team
A new version of the QMC2 add-on package for the MAME development tools has been released. This version now comes with Qt 4.7.4.
See download section for more details.
Since SVN r3159 QMC2 also supports tagging of any game/machine list entry. This allows you to do repetitive tasks easily for multiple sets at once.
One good example for this is to use it with the ROMAlyzer, which is shown in the following screen shot (from the Windows version):
Version 1.03 of the MAME ROM Collection Management Scripts has been released. This version is compatible with latest changes to MAME after 0.143, that is the newly added device sets are now cleanly supported as well.
Get it from the download section.
The MESS targets have received a nice new feature: the file-chooser! This enables you to map files to devices with the effort of just a few mouse-clicks. It even includes support for ZIP-contents, so you can directly map zipped files as well.
Here’s a screen shot of this in action for the C64 driver:
